Hey guys, I guess I'll be the first one to post here. As you can see my scanner kind of sucks so it cut off a few of the pictures here and there as you'll notice in the pictures. On that note none of the pictures are in the appropriate format for the project, I just wanted to post what I had so far that's all. Something is better than nothing. Also I couldn't post my two background images because my scanner isn't the right size to support the images and I didn't think I would have enough time to redo them and then rescan them. So everything here is what I have so far. Also I only have the five characters and the expressions. I have to redo the character turn around on a smaller page so it can possibility fit so I can scan it in. We'll see on that anyway.

Character One- Super Kitty

Expressions one

Expressions two

Character two- Bunny Butler

Character three- Dog Detective

Character four- Human toddler maid

Opposing Characters: For some reason or another the scanner wasn't able to darken the picture when I had went over it with black marker.....its strange.

Character Five- Bear Musician

If I remember correctly this one of your five personality characters, the hero cat? It definitely set the theme here that you were going for, but I think you could've pushed the idea more. What kind of a superhero is it? Is one like Superman that flies in a cape? Or is it like Aquaman where he's wearing tight shirts and jeans? Every superhero has an outfit that tells what they do and what their specialty/powers are. I can definitely see that you went that route, but it needs to be defined more I think. You definitely have a start; it just needs to be pushed further. I also liked how you gave the idea across that he/she was a super kitty because of the air effects, every superhero will have some sort of moving air to show their in action.

The expressions are definitely clear in this one. (even if it is cutoff) They are from left to right, happy, sad, annoyed/bemused, shy(?) , angry, and shocked(?) Whatever expressions you had in mind, look them up, and exaggerate them more.

To be honest, I'm kind of confused on the expressions you're trying to show here; because the bottom ones are cut off, I can't tell what expression is being shown in that row. I can definitely tell however, that the top row is sad but the other two not sure. The middle one ... not sure and then the other one is maybe annoyed/bemused? Again I say, exaggerate the expressions more. A good tip is that every expression can be illustrated with lines, especially with the eyebrows cause eyebrows are what give expressions in anime cartoons. Whether they are curved or straight or doing the wave, it shows the meaning more; remember how in my Alburt expressions image where I had lines in between his eyes to show anger? Try something like that and see if it helps

Senior Bunny Butler is definitely shown in this and I like that it is clear as it is. Definitely one of your pieces that doesn’t need much work, well done

This was definitely one of your more successful characters illustrated to their theme I think. If I remember correctly, the one thing you were picked at about him is the clothing he was wearing because that didn’t signify he was “detective” enough. If you want to give him a detective look, unless age gets in the way, add him a monocle, a magnifying glass, or a more identifying detective hat. (Look up Sherlock Holmes, that’ll give the look you’re going for) Also now that I’m looking at it, from what I can see he’s only wearing a pair of pants, give him an old English-ish jacket too, that should help define him more.

Definitely your most expressed themed characters. I really liked this one because it has the outfit of a maid, the fluff bonnet that maids wear and the pacifier which told us it was a baby. Remember to give him/her more a maid look, give the baby a duster, or make the bonnet look laceier and “floofy” and maybe even at the waist apron accessory that maids wear. It’s definitely off to a good start; you just need the final details

This one was probably one of my favorite ones to look at because of the personality of the characters. They’re definitely setting that opposite look apart, because it’s the fat geeky boy who is dreaming about and/or about being the slim skinny non-geeky superhero chic. I think this is definitely good as it is, just fix the chic and not make her seem so cut off on the page

The teddy bear musician right? The reason I say this is from what it looks like, is to me, a cub playing the saxophone. He is adorable and I like looking at him, but I think we need to see more details on the saxophone, (at least the buttons of a saxophone if nothing else) clothes of a performer to show he’s a musician, and then work out the figure to show if he’s supposed to be a child, teenager, adult or senior. (whichever you deem it the age) Looking at references helps, but other than that, he definitely sets the theme across with what he has for now

  9. Five Characters:

The cat's cape should probably have an end on the page, rather than just extending off it (unless it's like a nyan cat cape, in which it would be hilarious but needs rainbows), and I'd like to see a super power - if it's flying, find a pose that is more identifiable as such, because right now the pose can also be read as jumping.

The bunny butler I have no problem with, but I would suggest fixing his tie/bow/whatever - it's all over the place. Also, he could use some more definite bunny features, so I'd just suggest studying bunnies, but it's understandable, so it's not a must.

Dog detective needs a magnifying glass.

Toddler maid I think is your best one.

Bear musician just seems a little plain - try and find some outfit to make him look like a musician, a hat, or something.

Dog Expressions: Don't really have a problem with any of them...just fix the sixth one so it's the same angle.

Opposite Characters: Cleaning it up will definitely help it out, and Mr. Ruiz gave you some suggestions on the anatomy of the girl. Otherwise, I think the concept is pretty cool.

  10. Expressions: I love his expressions. Be careful not to lose the shape of his face. I would recommend using a peanut and holding it at different angles. :3 It matches the shape of his head perfectly! And did the bottom expressions get cut off or did you not draw the rest?

Characters: Really cute! I think you definitely need to figure something out about the cape on Super Kitty , but what you do with it is entirely up to you. I like your bunny butler, he looks like a respectable old man. :3 Just fix his tie. Other than that, it's easy to tell what he is. As for the dog detective, make him look more detective-like by maybe giving him a magnifying glass of case files or a badge. The toddler maid needs a feather duster, and perhaps open her eyes too.

Opposites: I like the idea of the nerd and superhero chick, but mind the paper plane. XP Don't cut off body parts, even if you don't like drawing them. The point of doing character sheets is to show ALL of the character.

  11. make the characters a little less flat and give them some dimensions too.

continue to develop them and never stop at just the first thing you put onto a piece of paper! always draw the character multiple times.
that's why teachers make use draw 5-50 thumbnails because better and better ideas will just keeping coming.

    :)
